Russia's MoD: mass fight between Russians and Dagestanias in military unit near Moscow

A mass fight between Russian and Dagestan soldiers burst out in a military unit deployed near Naro-Fominsk not far from Moscow. The incident happened in early July, but its video record appeared in the Internet only on August 10.

On August 13, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the Russian Federation reported that the conflict took place on July 4-5 in the Fourth Tank Brigade of the Moscow Military District with participation of about 20 soldiers, including recruits from Northern Caucasus.

"It was established that because of poor fulfilment of their official duties by a number of commanders of the unit a conflict burst out within a group of up to 20 regular servicemen, including those recruited from the regions of Northern Caucasus," says the official statement of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation.

The reason of the fight was a conflict on July 4 in the local club between soldiers from Dagestan and Russian servicemen. The conflicting parties decided to clear up in the evening of the next day in the parade-ground. And on the next day a numerous group of Dagestan soldiers attacked six Russian soldiers; and a fight began. Later, other soldiers came up to the venue, but the dominance of North-Caucasians remained, the "Komsomolskaya Pravda" writes.
