Karachai-Circassia adopts tourism development concept

The republic's concept of tourism development till 2015 defines six mountain-recreational zones, which may become tourist centres with highly developed transport infrastructure.

"The overall objective of the concept is to create a modern efficient and competitive inter-sector tourist complex in the form of an economic system able to satisfy the demand for various tourist services," reports the press-service of the head of Karachai-Circassia.

According to the August 11 statement of the press service, the concept takes into account that due to the variety of natural and historical-archaeological resources, the republic is able to develop various types and forms of tourism and recreation: medical, sports, recreational and educational types of tourism. According to the "Interfax", now mountain-pedestrian, water, horse and mountain-skiing types of tourism are most widespread in Karachai-Circassia.
