Two persons killed by explosion in Grozny

On August 9, two workers busy with cleaning were killed by a mine explosion in the Staropromyslovskiy District of the capital of Chechnya.

"Yesterday, in the Staropromyslovskiy District of Grozny, near No. 1 in Novatorov Street, in the territory, earlier occupied by the Geophysics Scientific-Research institute, two workers were removing garbage and triggered some unidentified explosive device. Both received plural fragmental wounds and died on the way to hospital," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by an employee of the local Ministry for Emergencies (MfE).

Sappers were sent to the place of the incident, who inspected the territory for the presence of other explosive items. They found nothing dangerous.
