Fire in Dagestan could be arson, Moscow believes

Arson is considered to be one of the versions of the fire in Anchikh village, Akhvakh District of Dagestan. This was stated by Khamzat Bekov, head of the department of federal support of territories at the Ministry for Emergencies of Russia, at his meeting with villagers-victims.

Magomedzagid Muslimov, Deputy of the National Assembly of Dagestan, who was present at the meeting, said that Russian law enforcers came with Mr Bekov in order to hold the necessary investigations in the place of the fire.

The arson version was straight off rejected by the villagers. "Even a superficial survey excludes the fact of deliberate arson," said a source of the "Caucasian Knot".

According to latest data, the fire destroyed 69 households, where 95 persons were registered.
