Yamadaev's ex-security refutes pressure on his relatives

Members of the Yamadaev clan reported that two bodyguards of Isa Yamadaev had been kidnapped by Chechen power agents; however one of them refuted this information.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by the clan representative that now two bodyguards of one of the three surviving Yamadaev brothers - Isa - are objects of persecution.

"In the evening of Monday, July 5, in Gudermes, employees of local power agencies headed by the well-known 'Lord' (First Vice-Premier of the government of Chechnya, Hero of Russia Magomed Daudov, - comment of the "Caucasian Knot"), captured ten close relatives of Beksolt Mataev and four relatives of Aziz Alviev. They both were Isa's bodyguards and took direct participation in detention last year of security Khavazhi Yusupov, who tried to kill Isa, and evidenced at the trial on the case," said the clan spokesman.

"According to our data, all the captured persons, very old men among them, were brought to the building of one of power agencies in Gudermes. There Daudov threatened them with execution, if Mataev and Alviev would not reject their evidences in the Yusupov's case, and then switched his mobile phone into the loud mode, and Ramzan Kadyrov himself talked to the detainees. He also demanded from the relatives to affect Isa's bodyguards, otherwise they'd face serious troubles, down to dismissal from work of all the bearers of these two surnames. They were given three days to influence their relatives," said the spokesman.

According to his story, Mataev tried to take his wife and daughter out of Chechnya, but they were detained by Chechen power agents in the border with the Volgograd Region and returned back. Then, Mataev also came back to Chechnya under the request of his relatives.

Meanwhile, the RAPSI Agency managed to receive Beksolt Mataev's comment. According to his story, he "really worked as Isa Yamadaev's security."

"I'm sick and tired of this sort of life, and I've returned home. I want to live in Chechnya, work and rear my children. I have no conflicts with the law," - he said.

He also made comments on Yamadaevs' statements published by media that their relatives had been demanded "to address Alviev and Mataev to persuade them to change their evidences on Khavazhi Yusupov's case," who was sentenced on June 3 by the Moscow Regional Court to 8.5 years of imprisonment for the attempt on Yamadaev.

"It's all bald lie. I know nothing about any incidents about which Yamadaev wrote. My wife with children is with her relatives in Volgograd. I am in my native home," the former bodyguard has noted.

Making comments on the trial of Yusupov, also a former Isa Yamadaev's bodyguard, Mataev has noted that "Yamadaev used us by deceit."

"An innocent guy has suffered. I think awhile what should be done in the context of Yamadaev's slanderous statements," said Mataev.
