Suspects of trafficking in humans detained in Northern Caucasus

In the end of last week at the same time in several cities of the Caucasian Mineral Waters and Kabardino-Balkaria a special operation was conducted, as a result of which seven members of the inter-regional criminal grouping were detained as suspects of trafficking in humans. This was reported today by the MIA's Central Administration for the Southern Federal District (SFD).

"According to the investigation, since 2007, the members of the grouping were engaged in recruitment, transportation and sale of young girls, their illegal detention and further sexual exploitation," the "Interfax" quotes the spokesman of the above Administration.

During the special operation 11 girls were set free.

According to the materials of the criminal case, the criminal grouping was headed by a woman from Pyatigorsk. She looked after the girls while they were kept at the "storage terminal" of the grouping - in one of private hotels of Pyatigorsk, where girls were brought from different cities of the SFD.

"They were kept there until they agreed to be engaged in prostitution," the "Gazeta.Ru" quotes the spokesman.
