Doctors fear for life of Tsechoev detained in Ingushetia

Movlat Tsechoev, uncle of brothers Adam and Beslan Tsechoev, who were detained on June 8 in Sagopshi village (Ingushetia), is sure of their non-involvement in the terror act in Sagopshi. Movlat told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent about the events that preceded detention and about a spontaneous rally in front of the GUVD (Chief Interior Department) of Malgobek.

According to Movlat, in the morning on June 8 people in camouflage and masks rushed into the house of his nephews. "There were other agents with them, without masks, these were federals. They were 'searching' the yard for about forty minutes. As a result, they found two 'pineapple' grenades, a muffler, explosive substance and a mobile phone with wires. All of that stuff was planted by them. No district militiaman, no local authorities and no witnesses were present. Then, they brought elderly neighbours and forced them to confirm those 'findings'," said Movlat Tsechoev. "My nephews were taken away as suspects of that terror act, although there are witnesses that at the moment of the terror act they were in the mosque."

On that very day in the evening, at 9:15 p.m., the Tsechoev brothers were beaten in the Malgobek GUVD. The ambulance doctors fixed the beatings.

"Now, they are kept for some administrative offence. I think that in several days they will face charges under some other article," the uncle believes.

Yesterday, on June 10, in Malgobek, relatives and fellow-villagers of the Tsechoevs gathered near the GUVD.

"We just demanded to show us our guys alive. We are not against a lawful investigation, because the terror act casualties were also our relatives and namesakes. But we were not given a chance to see them," said Movlat Tsechoev.

So far, the Tsechoevs saw no charges. Dzhambulat Ozdoev, the Ombudsman of Ingushetia, came to the GUVD like an observer, but he was not allowed to see the detainees.

"We've filed a complaint to the Prosecutor's Office, but received no reaction. We are going to reach the President of the republic," said Movlat.

Bashir Tochiev, Tsechoevs' advocate, also said that he was not admitted to his clients: "So far, I wasn't shown any documents connected with their detention and further stay in custody. I am going to appeal against their administrative detention," he said.
