Denisova: I was not notified that my criminal case was stopped

The militia of Krasnodar failed to present the decision about termination of the criminal case against Ms Denisova, head of the Krasnodar human rights organization "ETnIKa", as the human rights activist asserts. She is going to demand apologies and damage compensation.

"I think it's a victory. I have no feeling of joy, as, contrary to assurances of the press service of the GUVD (Chief Interior Department), I haven't received the statement on termination of the criminal case; and I've heard no apologies from the public prosecutor. And, nevertheless, we've won the case," said Denisova. She has also noted that she hopes in the near future to receive an official confirmation of removal of all the investigation's claims against her.

In the meantime, the press service of the UVD for Krasnodar has disseminated information through mass media that Denisova was notified about termination of the case against her.

"I'm going to demand apologies from the public prosecutor of the Western District, compensation of moral and material damage, caused to me by the illegal criminal prosecution, and return of all confiscated computers to their real owners," said Denisova.

She does not exclude that her persecution by law enforcement bodies will not stop with that and believes that the true aim of the criminal case against her initiated by local authorities was to prevent her human rights and public activities. Partly they succeeded, as Ms Denisova ascertained, as for six months already she is forced to work towards her defence only.
