Lawyers complain that they are not let to Guchapshev detained in Kabardino-Balkaria

Elena Bairamkulova and Magomed Abubakarov, lawyer of the Kabardino-Balkarian and Chechen Bars accordingly, have addressed Valery Ustov, head of the Investigatory Department of the Russian ICPO for the KBR (Kabardino-Balkarian Republic), and Anzor Getigezhev, Public Prosecutor of the Maiskiy District of the KBR, with their complaints that employees of the Maiskiy ROVD did not let them to Anzor Guchapshev, whose interests they represent and who was detained on the fact of a car explosion of Maiskiy.

"I was not allowed to meet Guchapshev, A. A., I was not admitted to the ROVD, and employees there would not talk to me on his detention. My non-admittance to my client is a violation of his rights to defence," runs Magomed Abubakarov's statement addressed to the District Public Prosecutor.

Lawyer Elena Bairamkulova expressed fear in her statement that her non-admittance to her client will be followed by appointment of a defender against his will but on the basis of Article 50 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation.

The lawyers ask the head of the ICPO and the District Prosecutor to "observe the law" in relation to the detainee.

Power agencies refused to comment the situation.
