Two militiamen shot dead in Kabardino-Balkaria
As reported by a source in law enforcement bodies of Kabardino-Balkaria, in the evening on April 7, in the city of Baksan, unidentified persons shot dead two militiamen.
Let us remind you that on March 26 in Baksan also unidentified persons blew up a car of STSI inspectors; fortunately, nobody suffered.
The "Interfax" was told by a source in law enforcement bodies that on April 7 at 11:40 p.m. in Baksan, in the Lenin Street, near the bus station, unidentified persons, who were moving in a Zhiguli car, opened automatic fire at a UAZ service car with three employees of the patrol-sentry service of the militia (PPSM) of the city OVD, who were on patrolling.
Militia Lieutenant Aslanbek Khamurzov, 29, deputy commander of a separated platoon, and PPSM militiaman Master Sergeant Aslan Hadzugov, 37, died in situ from received wounds, the ITAR-TASS reports. The attackers managed to disappear.
In the place of the incident militiamen found 67 cartridge cases of various calibres.
Let us note here that the situation in the republic becomes restless from time to time. On April 1, employees of the MIA of Kabardino-Balkaria found three hiding places with firearms and ammunition in private households of the Kenzhe settlement located in a suburb of Nalchik. Actions in Kenzhe were held in the context of the murder on March 31 in Nalchik of suspected leader of the so-called "Kenzhe Jama'at" Tatarov, 40, who headed the illegal armed formation acting in the territory of Kabardino-Balkaria after the death on March 24 of the former leader Anzor Astemirov.
On January 14, Naurbi Zhamborov, Deputy Interior Minister and Head of the Criminal Militia of Kabardino-Balkaria, said that the armed underground in Kabardino-Balkaria is about 150 persons strong.
