Case on attempt on Isa Yamadaev in Moscow sent to court

The Chief Investigatory Department of the Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office (ICPO) of the Russian Federation has sent the case about the attempt on July 28, 2009, on Isa Yamadaev, brother of ex-MP Ruslan Yamadaev and the ex-commander of the "Vostok" battalion Sulim Yamadaev. This was reported by the ICPO. According to the investigation, the attempter on Yamadaev was Khavazh Yusupov, 24, a native of Chechnya.

Let us note here that Isa Yamadaev had repeatedly expressed fears for his life and asked to protect him from killers, being afraid of following the fate of his brothers - Sulim who was attempted on in Dubai, and Ruslan assassinated in September 2009 in Moscow.

As detected by inspectors, in May 2009 Khavazh Yusupov promised the friend to kill Yamadaev for 3 million US dollars. The attempt was undertaken on July 28, 2009: Yusupov came to the city of Odintsovo, Moscow Region, where he illegally bought and kept a firearm.

"Being in one of the flats together with Yamadaev, Yusupov found a moment, when the victim turned with his back on him, and made at least three shots from close distance in the direction of the victim's head. However, he failed to finish his criminal intention for the reasons beyond his power," runs the statement placed in the website of the ICPO.

The "Gazeta.Ru" writes that after approval of the indictment by the Deputy General Public Prosecutor of Russia, the case was sent to the court for consideration on the merits.

Khavazh Yusupov is accused of a murder attempt (part 3, Article 30, point "z", part 2, Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and illegal circulation of firearms (part 1, Article 222 of the Criminal Code), writes the "BaltInfo" Agency.
