New inspector on "execution list" case appointed in Dagestan

In Dagestan, Criminal Case No. 96892 dealing with appeals to murders and grave crimes (the so-called "execution list") was transferred to Basyr Magomedov, an inspector on especially important cases of the investigatory committee at the prosecutor's office of Dagestan. This was reported by Isalmagomed Nabiev, chairman of independent trade union of drivers and entrepreneurs of Dagestan.

"Yesterday, I was at the Investigatory Committee, and went to meet inspector Zubair Omarov, who ran our case; and he told me that the process will be now run by a new person. Magomedov was not at work at that time; therefore, I couldn't meet him," said Mr Nabiev and added that it is already the third inspector.

"The criminal case was opened in October 2009 and ran by inspector Anvar Ukmasov; in a month he was replaced by Omarov; now we have Magomedov. When I asked Omarov about the reason of such frequent replacements, he referred to his bosses who make decisions," Mr Nabiev, also one of the figurants of the "execution list", told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Other figurants of the "execution list" did not address to the Investigatory Committee.

"I just have no time," said Natalia Krainova, a journalist of the local weekly "Novoe Delo" (New Business). Publicist Zubair Zubairuev said that he repeatedly visited the Investigatory Committee, but could not find the inspector.

Journalists of the edition named "Chernovik" Nadira Isaeva, Arthur Mamaev and Timur Mustafaev have reminded that they are under inquiry themselves. "We should have addressed where necessary long ago, but we are figurants in the criminal case with charges of kindling national, racial and religious enmity. Now, we think more about how to stay at large," said Mr Mamaev.
