Chief Physician of RCH fined in Dagestan

As regarded by the Prosecutor's Office and Antimonopoly Service, the Chief Physician of the largest medical establishment of Dagestan - the Republic's Clinical Hospital (RCH) - has broken the legislation on purchase and circulation of medical products and medical equipment; therefore he was fined by 50,000 roubles.

Under the initiative of the General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) of the Russian Federation, inspections, like the above in Makhachkala, were held in many regions of Russia. According to the information, received by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent at the GPO, the inspections revealed that "practically everywhere executive officials and heads local self-governments and public health services abuse their official powers, create administrative barriers to fair tendering, restrict competition and grant privileges to certain managing subjects."

The revision conducted at the RCH of Makhachkala has shown that in breach of the Federal Law "On Placement Orders on Delivery of Goods, Execution of Works and Rendering of Services for State and Municipal Needs" the Chief Physician of the Hospital concluded in 2009 41 contracts with one of commercial companies for delivery of medical products worth over 4 million roubles.

By decision of the Antimonopoly Service, the Chief Physician of the RCH was brought to administrative responsibility and fined by 50,000 roubles.

The punished official was inaccessible for comments.
