Energy-saving programme for the capital of North Ossetia extended to five years

On February 22, Mayor of Vladikavkaz Sergey Dzantiev and officials of the Russian Power Agency discussed a programme draft for saving energy and improving the power efficiency in the capital of North Ossetia. Implementation of its first-order measures will demand about 270 million roubles from the local budget.

The programme was drafted according to the Federal Law of November 23, 2009 "On Energy Saving and Improved Power Efficiency, and On Making Amendments in Certain Legal Acts of the Russian Federation". Vladikavkaz became the second city after St Petersburg to get closely involved in drafting a new programme, meeting the requirements of the new Law.

According to Mayor Dzantiev, the list of tasks includes not only energy saving and increase of power efficiency, but also propaganda and training of the corresponding behaviour of townspeople, as well as development of the market of energy-related services in the territory of Vladikavkaz, and improvement of ecological indicators.
