Power agents accuse Dymovskiy of links with drug business

Militia Major from Novorossisk Alexei Dymovskiy, who placed his video appeal in the Internet with criticism of the work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and was subsequently accused of a swindle, can now face another criminal case, this time - on charges of drug dealing.

As reported on February 3 by the spokesman of the GUVD (Chief Interior Department) of the Krasnodar Territory, Dymovskiy, who in 2008-2009 was senior operative officer of the UVD of Novorossisk for addressing crimes of illegal drug circulation, was engaged in "roofing" drug dealers and supplied drugs to them.

Under the new criminal case, searches were already conducted in the apartments of Alexei's common-law wife Olesya and his stepbrother Konstantin Minkin. Dymovskiy's advocate Nikolai Ukraintsev said that the wife and brother of disfavoured major had been interrogated for their participation in drug dealing, and confiscated the woman's mixer.

Mr Dymovskiy's defence links the appearance of the new case with the collapse of the previous one. According to Mr Ukraintsev, so far, Dymovskiy has not received any notice about the new criminal case. The lawyer also added that his client was already checked for drug dealing, but then suspicions were not confirmed.

Vadim Karastelyov, an expert of the Novorossisk Committee of Human Rights, said that Dymovskiy was accused of drug dealing after two arrested Novorossisk drug dealers have recently evidenced against the major and his brother.

Meanwhile, Sergey Kucheruk, head of the GUVD of the Krasnodar Territory said one of these days that one more criminal case is prepared against Dymovskiy - on charges of forgery and falsification of proofs.

Today, the opposition and human rights activists are going to hold a rally in central Moscow within the campaign "Militia: Rebooting!" aiming to proclaim the demand of a radical MIA reform. The organizers of the event are the United Civil Front, Solidarity Union with Political Prisoners and Movement "For Human Rights".

The rally will start at 7:30 p.m. in the Turgenev Square in Chistye Prudy at the monument to Griboedov, as reported by the City-FM.
