All-Russian action "Healthy Hearts" held in Rostov-on-Don

Today in the morning, the Rostov Musical Theatre hosted a solemn opening of the All-Russian educational action "Healthy Hearts". The aim of the action is to draw attention of people to their health, in particular, to vascular diseases.

The action initiators organized examination for cholesterol and glucose contents in blood, measurement of blood pressure and body weight index, as well as doctors' consultations right in the theatre. Some fifteen hundred persons came to take part in the action.

Olga Borzova, chair of the health committee of the Russian State Duma, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that "the action is aimed sooner at healthy people than at patients and pursues, first of all, the aims of prophylaxis."

According to the Raphael Oganov, president of the All-Russia Scientific-Practical Society of Cardiologists, in 2009-2011 this action should cover 23 cities of Russia."
