Armenia: GALA TV Company holds action in defence of Nikol Pashinyan

Within the protest action against the verdict passed on January 19 in Armenia to Nikol Pashinyan, the GALA TV Company is holding a cycle of live open TV debates.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Nikol Pashinyan, an oppositionist and editor-in-chief of the "Aikakan Zhamanak" newspaper, on January 19 was sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment.

The GALA TV Company plans periodic actions in defence of Pashinyan. The first one was held on January 20. Then, at 9-10 p.m. the Company stopped broadcasting and kept showing Nikol Pashinyan's photo for an hour.

The Company is ready to give floor to all those who want to express their opinions in this occasion, as the "Panorama.am" Agency quotes the "Shirak Kentron" NGO.

Another agency - the "7or.am" reports that many citizens and organizations have already expressed their intention to join the action.
