Bakradze: murder of Abkhazian native was provoked by atmosphere of interethnic enmity in Russia

David Bakradze, head of the Georgian parliament, has accused, in his comments on the murder in the evening on November 23 in Moscow of Eduard Gurtskaya, 19, a native of Abkhazia, Russia of ethnically-motivated persecution of people.

Let us remind you that on November 23, at about 10:30 p.m., near the "Kuzminki" metro station in Moscow, a local militiaman recruited from Kalmykia Anver Ibragimov, being in the state of alcoholic intoxication beat two natives of Abkhazia, whom he never met before, as a result of which one of them died. According to preliminary data, the incident burst out of an ordinary quarrel.

According to Mr Bakradze, the responsibility for this sort of incidents is partially on those Russian politicians who present Georgians as enemies.

The Georgian MP has noted that such statements had naturally influenced the mentality of rank-and-file militiamen, the IA "News-Georgia" reports.

Koba Subeliani, Minister for Refugees' Matters and Accommodation, said, in his turn, that the Georgian party will allot money for transportation home and burial of Gurtskaya.

Currently, by the order of Militia General-Major Vladimir Kolokoltsev, head of the Moscow GUVD (Chief Interior Department), who personally visited the scene of the crime, all the participants of the fight have been sacked from law-enforcement bodies; and Vladimir Domashev, commander of the Moscow second operative militia regiment, was dismissed from his post.
