In Krasnodar, cars with special license number plates are revealed as TRs infringers

Spot-checks are organized in this city by local UVD (Interior Department) together with the city-based road-guard regiment aimed to reveal infringers of Traffic Regulations (TRs) driving cars without number plates and with the so-called "special number series". However, local residents find these actions inefficient.

As reported by Ilya Shakalov, head of the press service of Krasnodar UVD, local drivers-infringers frequently "cover themselves with IDs and business cards." Therefore, since August 18, special actions are held in the city aimed to reveal TRs violations by drivers without number plates and with numbers of special series.

Only during the first raid of this sort, the city road policemen drew up more than 1600 administrative protocols within 24 hours on TRs infringers, and over a hundred drivers were made responsible for driving cars without number plates. The UVD has reminded that such violation entails cancellation of driver's license.

As a result of the raids, information about the drivers, who have presented IDs and business cards of administrative or law-enforcement bodies as a "shelter" of their violations, will be sent to the heads of these bodies; for them to make respective checks.

Meanwhile, many car owners of the territory and city of Krasnodar are sceptical as to the local governor's statement and messages about the raids and spot-checks of cars with special license numbers.

"Cars with trickster numbers have ever been and will be on our roads; and, most probably, nobody can do any thing with it," said Alexei, an owner of a beige "Zhiguli-7" car with an "ordinary" number plate. "There have been a lot of mess and talks around this issue, but I practically see no results. After the latest restrictions on special signals and numbers, for some time the roads looked better, but not for long."

The driver of a silvery "Toyota" with the number starting with МММ93, who presented himself as Arthur Aleksandrovich, has emphasized that practically half of the so-called "special series" in the Kuban capital (Krasnodar) and as a whole in the territory are "in hands of private persons, who have nothing to do with any special or emergency structures; they just bought them for big money to feel easier on the roads." "In the conditions of today's corruption, for many drivers it's just a chance to save money," laughed the driver, who refused to indicate his sphere of business.

Let us note here that people call as "trickster" special types and series of state registration car license numbers. For example, dark-blue numbers are issued to MIA officials and black ones - to military vehicles, etc.
