Magomed Mutsolgov, an Ingush human rights activist, a member of the Expert's Board at the Office of Russian Ombudsman, has stated that the cases of prejudiced attitude to natives from Northern Caucasus in army units have become more frequent recently. He told about two complaints lodged by residents of Ingushetia, who are concerned of the fates of their relatives.

Mair-Ali Vakhaev, a resident of the Achkhoy-Martan District of Chechnya who disappeared on February 11 in the Sunzha District of Ingushetia, is still undetected. The law enforcement bodies of the Chechen Republic now nothing about his fate. A source from there does not exclude that Vakhaev could be killed by militaries, and his body hidden.

The offer of Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office (ICPO) of Russia, to enforce mandatory fingerprinting for all citizens of the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD), caused extremely negative reaction in public and human rights activists. However, President Ramzan Kadyrov has treated this initiative as "normal".

Five years ago, on March 8, 2005, it was announced that in the plain Grozny District of Chechnya, as a result of successful operation of Russian special agencies Aslan Maskhadov, President of the self-proclaimed Chechen Republic of Ichkeria (ChRI), was liquidated. Some people in Chechnya still believe that Maskhadov was killed on other day and in other place, while the special operation in Tolstoy-Yurt village, where he was allegedly liquidated, was just an imitation.

Two private houses in the special operation zone in Ekazhevo village, Nazran District of Ingushetia, had been mined with non-extractable mines, as reported by a source in power agencies. According to his story, these buildings will be blown up by sappers. The body of supposed Said Buryatskiy, found after examination of the operation venue, was already delivered to the Centre of Forensic-Medical Examination of the Ministry of Defence in Rostov-on-Don, where the genetic examination will be held to identify the casualty.

The efforts of local administrations who make house-by-house visits and register livestock and poultry are explained only by the intention of the authorities to have a "clear idea about the population of privately owned animals."
