It is 20 years since the attack of Shamil Basaev's militants on Ingushetia, as a result of which 78 people were killed and 113 others were wounded. In Nazran, renovation of the memorial to the victims of the attack is being completed, the city Mayoralty has informed.

In Krasnodar, the police released after detention a husband of Maria Smelaya, a native of Chechnya. No child was accompanying him. The man is suspected of unsanctioned actions with the use of violence.

In the French city of Tours, the police detained a 15-year-old native of Chechnya after he posted videos on social network with instructions for manufacturing an improvised explosive device, beheading people, and with symbols of the “Islamic State” (IS, a terrorist organization, banned in Russia by the court, – note of the “Caucasian Knot”).

The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) has found that by detaining human rights defender Oleg Orlov* at a picket in support of Oyub Titiev and fining him for his protest action, the Russian authorities violated the rights to freedom of peaceful assembly and judicial impartiality.

Prisoners from Ingushetia, convicted under terrorist articles, took part in hostage-taking at the Rostov SIZO (pre-trial prison), said the head of Ingushetia. Sources have added that prisoners from Chechnya were also among hostage-takers.

The bills that intend to ban wearing religious clothing, including niqabs, in public places are causing a split in the society, which is especially negative amid the special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine. Religious clothes are not widespread in the country, this issue is not relevant, therefore the bills to ban them will not be adopted, lawyers believe.

A court in Shali has rejected the defence's motion to release Zarema Musaeva from the colony settlement for her health reasons. The judge took into account the arguments of the medical commission that Musaeva's health allows her to continue serving her sentence, her advocate, Alexander Savin, has informed.
