The European External Affairs Service (EU diplomatic service) has stated that Jehovah's Witnesses, like other religious organizations, "should be able to peacefully hold meetings, as it is guaranteed by the Russian Constitution, international obligations of Russia and international human rights standards." This was a reaction of the European External Affairs Service to a court's decision in Russia on the liquidation of the organization.

Advocates of Zhalaudi Geriev, a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, sentenced for illegal possession of drugs, have appealed to the Investigating Department for Chechnya of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) with a request to retract the sixth refusal to institute a criminal case against the people who kidnapped Zhalaudi Geriev.

Threats to journalists coming from Chechnya after publications about persecutions of members of the LGBT-community in the republic may harbinger of greater misfortune, said Nadezhda Azhgikhina, a member of the “Free Word” Association; and Alisa Ganieva, a member of the Association, has added that they would strengthen the support of the journalists, threatened for their honestly performed professional work.
