In Saint Petersburg, policemen detained ten activists who during the May Day procession organized an action against harassment of gays in Chechnya and chanted the slogan "Kadyrov to The Hague!" The UN High Commissioner has demanded to protect the rights of gays in Chechnya.

The visit of the Mufti of Chechnya to Syria and his meeting with President Bashar Assad were sanctioned by the Kremlin on the initiative of Ramzan Kadyrov, believe the experts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot". In the period from January to March, in Chechnya, 16 militants were killed and 51 people were detained on suspicion of involvement in the armed underground. This was reported by officials from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Chechnya. The depletion of oil reserves in Chechnya is the main factor, which encouraged the agreement between Ramzan Kadyrov and Igor Sechin on leaving the assets of the "Rosneft" in the ChechenRepublic.
