Ruslan M., detained in the case of the murder of a pensioner of the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) in Grozny on May 26, is a staff member of the Chechen police and not a fighter of the special unit for the National Guard (known as "Natsgvardia") of Russia. This has been clarified by the press service of the North-Caucasian District of the troops of the National Guard of Russia.

This figure indicates a significant increase in the number of young people among members of the armed underground as compared with 2015, when six out of 10 suspected militants killed in Chechnya were younger than 35 years old.

Journalist Svetlana Anokhina has been recognized the winner of the Akhmednabi Akhmednabiyev Prize for 2016 for her article "Circumcised women subject their daughters to circumcision".

According to an advocate of the victim family, Alexei Venediktov was one of the last persons who talked to Boris Nemtsov.
