Over the past 24 hours, 23 patients died from coronavirus in the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD): 10 people died in Dagestan; seven – in the Stavropol Territory. Chechnya is in the third place; three deaths were recorded there for the last 24 hours. These three regions are still in the lead in the NCFD in terms of the daily increase in the number of infected persons.

Over the past 24 hours, 745 people infected with coronavirus were registered in the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD). 222 of them are in the Stavropol Territory; in Dagestan, COVID-19 was confirmed in 101 people. Chechnya, where the smallest increase had been recorded earlier, takes the third place with 91 cases.

The increase in the number of coronavirus infections is associated with oppositional rallies taking place in the country, the participants of which ignore the restrictions, sources from Georgian authorities assert. In its turn, the opposition has parried that authorities are to blame for the worsened epidemiological situation, since they are doing nothing to overcome the crisis.

About 250 Azerbaijani citizens stay at the "Ogonyok" camp in the Kaitag District of Dagestan and await their return home. The tent camp near the village of Kullar was dismantled with the onset of cold weather.
