Defence secures questioning of forensic expert in case on murder of 19-year-old Sultanov in Dagestan
A forensic expert, invited by the defence of the family of Magomed-Ali Sultanov, a murdered resident of Kayakent, called the forensic examination, conducted the investigator’s order, insufficient. According to the forensic expert’s version, at least three wounds were inflicted with a screwdriver. It was the fourth request after which the court agreed to question the expert brought in by the defence.

The Cassation Court has disregarded the fact that Asker and Lianna Khamukov, residents of Baksan, were convicted within the case of financing terrorism without any proofs of their guilt, while the charges were based on testimonies of some secret witnesses, their advocate has stated, stressing that all the appealing opportunities against the verdict at the national level have been exhausted.

Akhmed Djabrailov served as a storm-trooper in the Chechen special unit "Akhmat", and returned home a week before his death at a Makhachkala police station, his mother has stated. She has reproached the head of Dagestan for not reacting to the violence against a fighter in the special military operation (SMO) even after her written appeal to him.

The Fourth Cassation Court of Krasnodar has upheld the sentence of human rights defender Igor Nagavkin from the town Kalach-on-Don, and refused to assign him a real prison term as demanded by the Prosecutor's Office (PO). Nagavkin insisted on overturning the verdict; he intends to appeal against it at the Supreme and Constitutional Courts.
