On July 15, during and after the rally in support of the Azerbaijani Army in Baku, a total of 46 activists were detained. Criminal charges have been brought against 26 of them, says the report of the new human rights structure "Defence Line" that was set up in Azerbaijan on July 22. The organization does not exclude that the number of those arrested may be even higher.

In Austria, a court has extended until August 20 the term of arrest for one of the suspects in a case on the murder of Chechen blogger Mamikhan Umarov, and the second suspect will be kept in prison until January 2021, an official from the Prosecutor's Office reports. Investigators will take into account a video appeal of the blogger's relatives who took the blame for his murder, the police say.
