A court sentenced Svetlana Ogoreva, a resident of Karachay-Cherkessia, to a suspended sentence, deeming her attendance at Jehovah's Witnesses* services to constitute membership in an extremist organization. The defendant denied the extremism charge.

The Dustum sports complex, opened in the village of Gvardeyskoye in the Nadterechny District, is named after Adam Kadyrov, the third son of the Chechen leader. The complex was opened personally by Adam Kadyrov, who became an "honorary citizen" of the district.

Residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg today laid flowers at the grave of journalist Anna Politkovskaya, the Novaya Gazeta office, and a memorial to the victims of repression. Some of those convicted in her murder have already been released, but the mastermind behind the attack remains unconvicted, Politkovskaya's colleagues recalled on the 19th anniversary of her death.

The “Caucasian Knot" publishes the agreement on the establishment of peace and interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which was initialed by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on August 8, 2025, through the mediation of US President Donald Trump. The meeting of Trump, Aliyev and Pashinyan took place on August 8 in Washington. Following the meeting, Pashinyan and Aliyev also signed a joint declaration.
