MIA of Chechnya refuses to comment inquiry of Islam Umarpashaev's kidnapping
According to Nurdi Nukhazhiev, Ombudsman in Chechnya, there are no grounds to accuse any republic's power agency of kidnapping Islam Umarpashaev, a resident of Chechnya. The head of the press service of the MIA on the Chechen Republic refused to communicate with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent on the kidnapping issue.

Inquiry into Estemirova's murder is under pressure, human rights activists assert
As stated by Svetlana Gannushkina, head of the Committee "Civil Assistance", the criminal investigation on Natalia Estemirova's murder faces problems, although inspectors are still going to round it up. Oleg Orlov, head of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", believes that involvement of power agents in her murder should be considered as one of the main versions in searching the criminals.

PACE to insist on release of political prisoners in Azerbaijan
The Council of Europe does a lot to urge Azerbaijan to execute its liabilities before this organization. The “Caucasian Knot" publishes the agreement on the establishment of peace and interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which was initialed by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on August 8, 2025, through the mediation of US President Donald Trump. The meeting of Trump, Aliyev and Pashinyan took place on August 8 in Washington. Following the meeting, Pashinyan and Aliyev also signed a joint declaration.
