According to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), since the beginning of this year, 25 Russian citizens have been refused in entry to Azerbaijan. They were detained for several hours, in some cases they were left without food, water, and medical care and then sent out at their own expense. Armenian surnames of Russian citizens were mentioned as a ground for the refusal to let them enter Azerbaijan.

The Kirov District Court of Astrakhan has considered the case against Boris Kolomin, whom the police recognized as an organizer of a walk around the city of Alexei Navalny's supporters held on June 12. The activist was fined by 10,000 roubles. Meanwhile, Boris Kolomin himself announced his intention to challenge the Court's decision.

On July 5, the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group Russian Ambassador Igor Popov, French Ambassador Stefan Visconti, and US Ambassador Richard Hoagland made a statement in connection with the information received by them and related to "the resumption of violence late in the evening on July 4 in the village of Alkhanly of the Fizuli District, resulting in casualties, including among civilians."
