CTO in Ingushetia becomes first since early 2019
The counterterrorist operation (CTO) introduced today in the village of Voznesenskoye has become the first in Ingushetia since January 2019. The shootout in the CTO zone is the second armed incident in the republic since the early 2019.

Russian SC schedules consideration of case of Dagestanis killed in Chechnya
The Supreme Court (SC) of Russia scheduled for August 12 a hearing in the criminal case of eight natives of Dagestan, who, according to the Chechen law enforcement bodies, were killed in a shootout. This was reported by advocate Andrei Sabinin.

KBR resident-returnee from Syria files complaint to the ECtHR

In July 2019, after the ban on direct Russia-Georgia flights, the number of Russian tourists in Georgia decreased by 14% compared to the same period of 2018. Hotel business professionals in Batumi have noted that the total number of foreign tourists did not decrease due to a bigger inflow from other countries.

Alexei Frenkel, a convict for the murder of Andrei Kozlov, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Central Bank, plans to testify against Dagestani entrepreneurs, Ziyavudin and Magomed Magomedov, Frenkel's advocate has stated. The “Caucasian Knot" publishes the agreement on the establishment of peace and interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which was initialed by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on August 8, 2025, through the mediation of US President Donald Trump. The meeting of Trump, Aliyev and Pashinyan took place on August 8 in Washington. Following the meeting, Pashinyan and Aliyev also signed a joint declaration.
