Freedom House treats Russia and Azerbaijan as non-free countries
In 2019, human rights violations and persecutions of activists continued in Russia and Azerbaijan, says the report of the international organization "Freedom House" released on March 4. Human rights defenders ranked Georgia and Armenia as partly free countries.

Shootout in Alkun is the fourth armed incident in Ingushetia over 12 months

Attempt on Tumso triggers splash of his opponents' activeness in Chechnya
Over the week after the attack on Tumso Abdurakhmanov, Chingiz Akhmadov, the head of the pro-governmental "Chechnya Today" News Agency, placed four posts on the Instagram, in which he ridiculed the blogger's version of the assassination attempt. The acting President of Abkhazia has demanded from the Russian Ambassador to submit the information on the basis of which the Russian media reported about poisoning of Aslan Bzhaniya. Islamic scholars criticize anti-alcohol campaign in Chechnya

The Swedish Prosecutor's Office (PO) suspects Ruslan Mamaev, a Russian citizen, of attempting to kill the Chechen blogger, Tumso Abdurakhmanov, the "Vayfond" Association reported on March 3. The attacker's photos have been posted on the Facebook in Ruslan Mamaev's page, the blogger has confirmed.
