Ibragim Gadjiev spends night in car near courthouse

Ibragim Gadjiev, a witness in the case of the policemen, Raip and Ziyavudin Ashikov, has spent the night in the passenger car blocked by law enforcers in a cordoned-off area near the building of the Kirov District Court of Makhachkala.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the evening on April 1, law enforcers blocked the car of Ibragim Gadjiev, not allowing him to drive away from the courthouse. They demanded from Gadjiev to follow them to the police station for questioning. Gadjiev himself feared that if he was set free, law enforcers might take him away to some unknown place, where he would be tortured.

Since the evening of April 1, the car with Ibragim Gadjiev inside is kept blocked at the Kirov District Court of Makhachkala.

Since 8:00 a.m. Moscow time, the passage to the courthouse was blocked on both sides; and policemen cordoned off the street with tape. All the activists and members of the Public Oversight Commission (POC) of Dagestan, who spent the night near the courthouse, were driven outside the perimeter of the double cordon. Sapiyat Magomedova, an advocate, was also taken out of the cordon and not allowed to approach her client, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
