Investigators name motive for killing three conscripts in Armenia
The commander of a combat post threatened the conscript soldier to report some compromising information to his relatives, if he refuses to shot three his fellow servicemen dead, who had learned about the non-stature relations of the soldier with his commander, investigators have suggested. The conscript has been charged with murder; and the commander – with incitement to murder and sexual violence, the Armenia's Investigating Committee (IC) has informed today.

Ingush activist Myakiev treats ECtHR's decision on his complaint as fair
The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) has obliged Russia to pay 1000 euros to Ingush activist, Bagaudin Myakiev, for his illegal custody. This gives hope for similar ECtHR's decisions in favour of other people arrested within the case of the rally in Magas in March 2019, Myakiev himself has informed.

Dagestani native complains about ineffective investigation into case on torture
Alimpasha Amaev, a 77-year-old resident of Germany, complained that it took nine years for investigators to bring to court a case on torture he had been subjected to by law enforcers in Khasavyurt in 2006. The case of another native of Dagestan, who was tortured together with Alimpasha Amaev, remains not investigated, Vladimir Osechkin, the head of the “Gulagu.net” reports today.

In Armenia, villagers demand to solve problem with supply of power and water
Today, about 400 residents of the Aknalich village in the Armavir Region of Armenia have blocked the Yerevan-Armavir motor way in protest against regular power and water cuts. Alaudinov heads Chechen Security Council
Apti Alaudinov, an assistant to the head of Chechnya for the power bloc, who was earlier dismissed by Putin from the post of the head of the Chechen police, now heads the regional Security Council. Abkhaz parliament requests check at CC of agreement on "Pitsunda" dacha
The Parliament of Abkhazia has asked the Constitutional Court (CC) to check the agreement on the transfer of the state dacha in the city of Pitsunda to Russia for compliance with the law. Some Abkhaz politicians point to inadmissibility of the alienation of people's property; while others have stressed that the agreement doesn't provide for any transfer of Abkhaz land to Russia.

Imams' involvement in recruitment reveals law enforcers' shortage in Chechnya
The participation of Chechen Imams in recruiting residents for working in local law enforcement bodies suggests that this job has become unpopular due to the special operation in Ukraine, the analysts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" believe. When applying for law enforcer's job, a person will be enrolled in the reserve, and then face the fact that he is obliged to go and take part in the special operation, the analysts believe.

The “Caucasian Knot" publishes the agreement on the establishment of peace and interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which was initialed by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on August 8, 2025, through the mediation of US President Donald Trump. The meeting of Trump, Aliyev and Pashinyan took place on August 8 in Washington. Following the meeting, Pashinyan and Aliyev also signed a joint declaration.
