Suspected militant killed in south-west of Chechnya
On July 27, a man who put up armed resistance was killed in the course of a special operation in the mountain district Urus-Martan in Chechnya. The special operation was conducted near the village of Alkhazurovo where search for members of armed units is under way. Efforts to identify the victim are made.

Nominations to ombudsman's post moved in Georgia

Ecologists to dispute the approval of Sochi master plan
The Ecological Watch on North Caucasus intends to file law suits at "appropriate instances" in order to dispute the decision of the Sochi city assembly which approved the city development master plan on July 14.
