The Baku Court of Appeal (CoA) has dismissed the appeal complaint lodged by Zaur Gurbanly, a blogger and an activist of the "Nida" public movement, against the court ruling to extend his arrest by three months more. His advocate believes that investigators are deliberately protracting the transfer of the case to the court.

Tarkhan Kartoev, a resident of the Ingush village of Ekazhevo, convicted on charges of blowing up the "Neva-Express" Train, has died in Penal Colony No. 2 (IK-2) of Ekaterinburg. According to activists of a number of Circassian organizations, on 28 June in Brussels for the fault of the Abkhaz delegation, the Day of Circassian Culture at the European Parliament was disrupted. According to their story, instead of that Day, another event – the conference "Abkhazia and Europe – Ways to Mutual Understanding and Rapprochement" – was held.
