Politicians express their optimism about Georgia's membership in NATO
The NATO Parliamentary Assembly (PA) in Georgia has justified the expectations of Georgian politicians. Victor Dolidze believes that NATO is optimistic about Georgia's membership. According to Irakli Sesiashvili, Chairman of the Defence and Security Committee, such an event held in a country that is not a NATO member will affect its future steps in the organization.

Regional Court leaves man suspected of causing explosion in Volgograd in custody
The court has dismissed an appeal filed against the arrest of 80-year-old Yuri Babayan, accused of damaging a gas pipe. According to investigators, the above damage caused an explosion in a residential building in University Avenue in Volgograd. This was reported by Olga Tokareva, Senior PR Assistant to the Volgograd Regional Prosecutor.

Truckers from Southern Russia forced to leave Khimki protest camp

Residents of Stavropol Territory blame authorities for failure to alert them
The authorities of the Stavropol Territory have again postponed the evacuation of residents of eastern districts, who are under a threat of flooding, the governor's press service has reported. In the Lenin District of Makhachkala, Nikolaev Street was named in honour of Magomed Nurbagandov, a staff member of the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), and his brother Abdurashid Nurbagandov, who were killed by militants. The renaming of the street was reported by the administration of Makhachkala.

NATO PA calls on Russia to renounce recognition of independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia

HRC "Memorial" extends list of political prisoners
The lists of people recognized by the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" as political prisoners mention 23 people, including residents of Dagestan, Chechnya, Ingushetia, Kalmykia, and the Krasnodar Territory. Sudanese doctor receives Aurora Prize in Yerevan
