Zhirair Sefilyan, the leader of the Armenian movement "100 years without regime", and six other defendants were found guilty and sentenced to 2-10.5 years of imprisonment. Advocates, relatives and supporters of the defendants treated the verdict as a demonstration of power by the authorities.

Today, the Chechen CEC has reported that following the results for processing of 100% of the protocols from polling stations, the voter turnout at the presidential election reached 91.54%. Observers reported violations. Besides, they also claimed that at their polling stations, the actual turnout was 2-3 times less than the officially announced one.

The Chechen Central Election Commission (CEC) has announced the preliminary results of the presidential election. According to them, Vladimir Putin gained 91.44% of the votes. Pavel Grudinin became the second in Chechnya with 4.62% of votes, while the third was Sergey Baburin with 1.18%. The remaining five presidential candidates gained less than 1% of the votes.

Marat Ismailov, an observer from the "Yabloko" Party, registered three facts of ballot stuffing (throw-in) at a polling station in Kaspiysk. According to him, when he tried to stop a ballot stuffing, unidentified people wanted to take him outside, but the police intervened.
