Officials explain Ramzan Kadyrov's threats to rights defenders

In Chechnya, there are no restrictions for members of human rights organizations, the Chechen authorities announce. The Chechen Press Minister has explained that while speaking of rights defenders, Ramzan Kadyrov meant "notorious journalists."

In Armenia, house of former Court of Cassation chair shelled

Three men in masks entered the territory of the house belonging to Arman Mkrtumyan, the former chairman of the Armenian Court of Cassation, and opened random fire from machine guns. Court refuses to lift arrest from Yuri Khachaturov

In Oyub Titiev's case, witness voices conflicting evidence

Today, at the trial in the case against Oyub Titiev, the head of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" in Grozny, the court questioned a law enforcer from the Kurchaloi ROVD (District Interior Division). The witness denied his acquaintance with Oyub Titiev, but failed to explain why he wore the same uniform as other law enforcers who took part in the detention of the rights defender.

The peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as other documents signed at the meeting with Trump on August 8, 2025

The “Caucasian Knot" publishes the agreement on the establishment of peace and interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which was initialed by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on August 8, 2025, through the mediation of US President Donald Trump. The meeting of Trump, Aliyev and Pashinyan took place on August 8 in Washington. Following the meeting, Pashinyan and Aliyev also signed a joint declaration.
