Chechen and Dagestani authorities announce days-off for Kurban Bayram holiday
August 12 and 13 have been declared days-off in Chechnya in connection with one of the main Muslim holidays, Kurban Bayram. In Dagestan, only August 12 will be a day-off.

Russian SC schedules consideration of case of Dagestanis killed in Chechnya
The Supreme Court (SC) of Russia scheduled for August 12 a hearing in the criminal case of eight natives of Dagestan, who, according to the Chechen law enforcement bodies, were killed in a shootout. This was reported by advocate Andrei Sabinin.

Azerbaijan claims machine-gun shelling attacks in conflict zone

KBR resident-returnee from Syria files complaint to the ECtHR
Islam Gugov, a resident of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), sentenced to 16 years in prison after his voluntary return from Syria, has sent a complaint to the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), in which he claims the second sentence for one and the same crime, a frequent change of judges and the inability to question witnesses.

In July 2019, after the ban on direct Russia-Georgia flights, the number of Russian tourists in Georgia decreased by 14% compared to the same period of 2018. Magomedov brothers' defence treats their involvement in murder as fake
Alexei Frenkel, a convict for the murder of Andrei Kozlov, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Central Bank, plans to testify against Dagestani entrepreneurs, Ziyavudin and Magomed Magomedov, Frenkel's advocate has stated. The Magomedov brothers have nothing to do with Kozlov's murder, their advocate asserts.

Released heavily sick Dagestani native tells about life in colony
