Residents of Chechnya treat video criticizing Abdurakhmanov as staged one
On April 20, the "Chechnya Today" News Agency posted a video entitled "Chechen youth addresses pseudo-patriotic bloggers". In the video, four young people express their negative attitude to an indefinite number of bloggers who criticize the authorities of Chechnya, and, in particular, to Tumso Abdurakhmanov. Protests against HPPs in Pankisi end in detentions
Fifteen protesters against the construction of a chain of hydraulic power plants (HPPs) in the Pankisi Gorge were detained. After the intervention of the head of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), they were all released, said Ramazan Bakagashvili, a deputy from the community of Duisi at the sacrebulo (municipal council) of the Akhmeta District.

ECtHR accepts Azerbaijani activist's complaint about customs' checks
Samir Kyazymly, an Azerbaijani human rights defender and the coordinator of the Alliance for the Protection of Political Freedoms, has complained to the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) that he is constantly unreasonably checked at customs when leaving Azerbaijan and coming back home. On April 19, the ECtHR notified him that his complaint had been registered.

NKR counts 250 shelling attacks over the week

Ramzan Kadyrov takes part in absentia in presidential election in Ukraine

Rights defenders report resumption of inquiry into torture of resident of Ingushetia
The investigators' sixth decision to suspend the inquiry into the torture of Albert Khamkhoev, a resident of Ingushetia, has been cancelled, the Committee against Torture (CaT) has informed. The case has been entrusted to a new investigator, rights defenders have clarified.

On April 19, Akhmed Barakhoev, one of the leaders of the protests in Ingushetia, arrested within the case of calls to unrests, turned 65. Georgian activists achieve tougher charges for murder of rights defender
The accusations to the participants of the conflict in Tbilisi, during which Vitaly Safarov, an employee of the "Centre for Inclusion and Development" was killed, were reclassified to more grave ones. Avtandil Kandelakishvili and Giorgi Sokhadze are now accused of murder based on national discord.

Opposition calls on EU to put forward tough conditions to Azerbaijani authorities

Law enforcers refuse informing defence about Uzhakhov's whereabouts
