Azerbaijan reports about sniper attacks in Karabakh conflict zone
The positions of the Azerbaijani troops in the Karabakh conflict zone and on the border with Armenia were shelled 20 times within 24 hours, including attacks from sniper rifles, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Azerbaijan reported.

Activists address Dagestanis for help in studying archives on repressed compatriots
In Makhachkala, participants of a memorial evening reported about the discovered facts of political repressions and the fate of the repressed compatriots. Activists called on residents of the republic to help with the study of found archival materials and also complained about obstacles in conducting archaeological excavations at the alleged burial site of the executed victims.

Human rights defenders note threat of POC's commercialization in Southern Russia
Compositions of Public Oversight Commissions (POCs) for monitoring human rights in penitentiary institutions in Chechnya, Dagestan, Ingushetia, Adygea, the Rostov Region, and the Krasnodar Territory have been changed almost completely, and people who are far from human rights activities enter the POCs.

In Nazran, rally in memory of victims of Ossetian-Ingush conflict held without speeches of local residents
In Nazran, participants of a mourning rally expressed their dissatisfaction with the fact that victims of the 1992 Ossetian-Ingush conflict had not been given any chance to deliver their speeches at the rally. Armenia announces aggravation of situation on border with Azerbaijan
The Azerbaijani troops shelled villages and military positions in the Tavush District, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Armenia reported. The Armenian side regarded the shelling attack as a provocation related to a meeting of the Council of CIS Defence Ministers in Baku.
