• In Nalchik, Circassians commemorate Caucasian War victims

  On the occasion of the 160th anniversary of the end of the Caucasian War, residents of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) have gathered at the Tree of Life monument to commemorate the victims thereof. They have stated that they try to come there every year to pay tribute to the memory of those who died for the independence of the Circassian people.

• Dagestan: villagers demand their abducted relative back

  The participants in the gathering held in the Levashin District have demanded to return the girl abducted by a young man back to her family and complained about inaction of law enforcement bodies. In their turn, the Dagestani police have objected that the adult girl had voluntarily, but against her family's will, left with her groom and entered into an Islamic marriage with him.

• Defence requests court to release Ingush native Daud Mamilov, accused of connections with IS*

  An advocate of Daud Mamilov, a native of Ingushetia, filed a complaint against the court’s verdict by which he was sentenced to eight years of imprisonment for involvement in the terrorist organization “Islamic State” (IS)*. The defence suggests that the verdict is based on assumptions and is pronounced with significant violations of the Daud Mamilov’s rights.
