Encoding of mobile telephone conversations lifted in Adygea

On the eve of the celebrations dedicated to Adygea's accession to Russia, along with the whole system of law and order protection activities, preventive security measures are taken in various spheres.

One of such measures was described in a private talk to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by an expert engaged in adjusting and repairing mobile phones.

"If I'm not mistaken, this measure was introduced from last Monday," he has noted. "The conversation coding function was switched off from mobile phones in Maikop."

"The most expensive cell phones have a special icon showing that the conversation protection (i.e. coding) function is on," the expert has explained. "The system can be switched off from outside, irrespective of the owner's will; in is done, as a rule, for tapping telephone conversations."

We note here that so far none of the public organizations of Adygea has stated its intention to hold protest actions during the celebrations. There is no data of this sort at the disposal of the local Ministry of Internal Affairs too.

At the same time, the leaders of the national public organizations of the Republic, as well as members of the Adyg Diaspora abroad, have repeatedly expressed their disagreement with the celebrations.

In particular, Arambiy Khapai, President of Sambo (wrestling type invented in the former USSR) Federation of Adygea, has expressed the disagreement position as follows: "All my friends Adygs are indignant at the cynicism of what happens. They are surprised: 'How can we celebrate what never happened?' And those who are for celebrating agree to do it with a reservation: 'Money has been allotted, therefore, why not to celebrate.' Just a pretty awful logic!"
