"Voice of Beslan" to lodge another complaint against Russia to Strasbourg

The All-Russia Public Organization "Voice of Beslan" plans to continue investigating the terror act committed in September 2004. In February, the organization will send another initiative group of 60 persons to Strasbourg to register a new complaint against the state.

Ella Kesaeva, the leader of the organization, has reported that the complaint accuses the authorities of the Russian Federation of inability to prevent the terror act.

Also, according to Ms Kesaeva, in January-February the cassation complaint of the victims on compensation of moral damage will be considered. "Compensation of moral damage to us was rejected under the motive that employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs did not commit the terror act," she said.

The leader of the "Voice of Beslan" has also reported that they were admitted to the materials of the case of Nurpashi Kulaev, the only survived terrorist.

"Before the end of Kulaev's trial we couldn't get the materials of the case. Now we have a chance to see the documents and find out, on the basis of what materials the trial took place," she has added.

The "Voice of Beslan" also plans to lobby the law on social defence of the rights of the terror act victims and strive for erection of a protective dome over the school building. Until now, according to Ella Kesaeva, the authorities have ignored this request.
