Kabardino-Balkaria to publish Memory Book of Victims of Political Repressions for people's money

The Kabardino-Balkarian branch of the all-Russian public charitable organization of pensioners and invalids and the Russian organization of victims of political repressions have prepared for printing the Memory Book of Victims of Political Repressions, as the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by the press service of the Russian FSB's Department for Kabardino-Balkaria.

"On the materials of the Federal Security Bureau, plenty of facts were gathered, covering the period from 1920 to 1950 and touching on the fates of more than five thousand persons, who had been repressed on political reasons and subsequently rehabilitated," runs the statement of the press service.

The initiators of the Republic's Memory Book made a decision to publish it on people's money. A special account was opened at the "Bum-Bank" Commercial Bank. The parents of the idea are sure that it will be supported by commercial structures, public organizations and citizens, since repressions had touched, in this or that extent, quite a lot of residents of the Republic.

According to the Association of Victims of Political Repressions, in 1918-1950, in total, 55,000 persons were repressed in Kabardino-Balkaria. All of them were subsequently, except for 42 persons, whose rehabilitation was rejected.
