Lavrov: during warfare in South Ossetia, all the parties were "exorbitant"

Sergey Lavrov, head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has admitted that all the parties of the military actions in South Ossetia were "exorbitant" in their warfare.

"All the parties were over-aggressive, but it was war, and when you see at night that you are shelled when on march, and you go to help Tskhinvali, then your return fire cannot be absolutely precise and touch nobody," explained the Minister to journalists' question about destructions in Georgian enclaves in South Ossetia during the August warfare, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

On the outcomes of their visit to South Ossetia, representatives of the Human Rights Centre "Memorial" and Human Rights Watch have declared that the leadership of South Ossetia and Russian militaries fail to ensure protection of property of the residents of Georgian enclave villages and safety of the people residing there.

The "Caucasian Knot" has presented a video interview with two old Georgians, who had stayed in the burnt down and plundered Georgian village of Avnevi, Znaur District of South Ossetia. They tell about death of their two fellow-villagers, outrage of marauders and arsons of houses; they recollect how peacefully they lived with Ossetians before the war.
