In Armenia, Sarkisyan, convicted organizer of murdering Public TV Director, released from custody

In Armenia, according to the decision of the court, Armen Sarkisyan, who has served five years of imprisonment accused of organizing the murder of Tigran Nagdalyan, Director of the Public Armenian Television, has received an early-conditional release.

According to the spokesman from the Political Board of the "Republic" Party, which is headed by Aram Sarkisyan, Armen's brother and former prime minister, the position of the Party remains unchanged, the "Republic" Party continues to demand release of all political prisoners, who are in fact political hostages; and Armen Sarkisyan was one of them.

Greta Sarkisyan, mother of Aram Sarkisyan and Hero of Armenia Vazgen Sarkisyan who was killed in the National Assembly on October 27, 1999, has told the "Caucasian Knot", in particular, the following: "My Armen can't be the murderer. Nagdalyan's death was absolutely no benefit for us <..>. I think that Armen's arrest was a display of the authorities' politics tricks."
