Lukashenko approves Russia's actions in South Ossetia

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko believes that Russia did everything "accurately and beautifully" during Georgia's aggression on South Ossetia. At his meeting with Dmitri Medvedev in Sochi he thanked Russia "for wisdom."

"I'd like to thank you also for the wisdom that you have exposed recently, especially during the aggression of the neighbouring state," Mr Lukashenko has addressed President Medvedev. "It was a calm and silent reaction, which has led to lengthy peace now established in the region."

"I don't find necessary to somehow interfere into this conflict," the ITAR-TASS quotes Belarus President as saying.

The "Interfax" reports that Russian President Dmitri Medvedev meets Alexander Lukashenko today in Sochi.
