Residents of four villages in Dagestan were left without water after an accident on the water pipeline.

As a result of a major breakthrough of the main water pipeline, residents of four settlements in the Karabudakhkent district: Manaskent, Zelenomorsk, Ullubiyau and Achchisu will be without water supply from October 29 to 31, reports today RIA "Dagestan" citing the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations.

A major breakthrough of the main water pipeline occurred in the area of Makhachkala airport in Dagestan. To eliminate the accident, utility workers stopped the operation of the first lift pump in Kaspiysk.

As a result, residents of four settlements in the Karabudakhkent district: Manaskent, Zelenomorsk, Ullubiyau and Achchisu will be without water supply from October 29 to 31, reports today RIA "Dagestan" citing the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations.

In turn, the Unified Operator of Dagestan in the field of water supply and wastewater treatment clarified that today there was a major accident on the main water pipeline "Kaspiysk - Izberbash" with a diameter of 1020 mm, reports "Interfax".

Forces from the republican emergency response system have been deployed to the accident site: 9 people and 4 units of equipment. One team of seven specialists is working on the line with three vehicles. According to preliminary data, they plan to restore water supply by 18:00 on October 31, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations clarified.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that on January 8, residents of Kaspiysk complained that there had been no water in their homes for about a week, and numerous appeals to the "Gorvodokanal" and the city administration remained unanswered. In February, investigators conducted searches at a commercial organization engaged in water supply and wastewater treatment as part of an investigation into negligence in providing water to the residents of Kaspiysk.
